Man Allegedly Pours Acid On Wife, 6-Month-Old Nephew & In-laws

To register his anger with his wife, a twisted 35-year-old Indian man identified as Sajid, allegedly scaled the boundary wall with brothers, Rizwan and Majid, and poured acid on his wife, her parents, three sisters and six-month-old nephew while asleep on the terrace, leaving them seriously injured.

Sajid’s brothers have been arrested while he is still at large.

Sajid’s wife, Ujma, suffered 80 per cent burns and her nephew Samad suffered 60 per cent burns. Both are reportedly in critical condition and plans are underway to transfer them to  Safdarganj Hospital in Delhi.

Ujma’s parents, Nisar (50) and Maskeen (43) and sisters Gulista (21), Nisha (16) and Tarannum (22), suffered 25-40 per cent burns and have been admitted to the Medical College.

A resident of Kharkhada village in Meerut, where the incident occurred said Sajid had married Ujma about two years ago, but she had been staying with her parents for the last two months following fights with her husband.

Nisar, the suspect’s father-in-law, told the police that he had sold his house for Rs 4.5 lakh about eight months ago and Sajid, his son-in-law, was trying to force him to give him Rs 50,000 to start a business, but he refused. Following his refusal, Sajid started harassing Ujma, and she returned to her parents house where Sajid struck with his brothers.
