21-Year-Old Woman Shot Dead for Refusing to Marry Her Cousin
A Kurdish father identified as Ghazi H. whose 21-year-old daughter was gunned down at a family wedding in Germany posted the photo above of his dead daughter on his Facebook page, demanding for justice. His daughter, Shilan, was shot dead at the family wedding after declining to marry her cousin.
According to reports, Ghazi said that his family left Iraq for Germany when his daughter was just three, adding that she had grown into a serious and confident young woman studying property management at college in Hannover, Germany.
He claimed his brothers, Numan H. and Hassan H., decided to marry her off to one of Numan’s sons, Sefin, 22, but she declined such arrangement, leading to her death.
Police have reportedly issued an arrest warrant for her cousin, Sefin N, who is the prime suspect.
