Why Mum-of-3 Committed Suicide After Leaving Cryptic Message On Facebook

Emma Thomas, a 28-year-old mother of three from UK, has committed suicide after leaving cryptic message on her Facebook page. The young mum hanged herself in her home in Rochdale, UK, hours after posting the message on Facebook, “I can’t do it any more, bye,” according to Mirror.

Mirror reports that she had struggled to come to terms with the fact her two older children had been placed in the care of her ex-boyfriend permanently by social services and her last child was in the hospital with a serious liver condition.

Thomas had earlier attempted suicide twice by cutting her wrists and overdosing on pills weeks before she died, sources say.

According to her sister, Ellen Price, social services put the two older children, who were aged five and nine, temporarily in the care of the deceased’s ex-boyfriend in Blackpool while she cared for her sick baby in November last year.

However, weeks before her death, Thomas was told that her ex-boyfriend would have custody of the two children permanently.

“It was heart-wrenching for her,” Price said.

An inquest into her death heard that she was prescribed anti-depressants to help her cope with her two children moving away and the strain of caring for her seriously-ill baby, who was only one at the time of her death.

Price also told the court that her sister was dealing with “difficulties” in her relationship with her current boyfriend, Lee Walsh, and that there had been “violent” incidents.

She had reportedly told social service staff that she felt “like jumping from a bridge” when she became overwhelmed.

The assistant coroner, Matthew Cox, who recorded a conclusion of suicide, noted that it was “clear’ troubles with all three of her children that overwhelmed the deceased and that she had intended to kill herself.

Her boyfriend, who had found her dead when he went to check on her after an argument, said, “I can’t believe Emma did what she did. She left my baby boy.”

The mum had moved from Blackpool to Rochdale with her older children after parting ways with her ex-boyfriend. She met Walsh a year later and they had a son, whose liver condition had made him spend much of his life in hospital, sources say.
