How a 14-Year-Old Housemaid Flees Home With Employee’s Toddler

The Aweda family, were thrown into utter disarray after discovering their housemaid had taken their 22-month-old daughter and left their house in Idimu.

The housemaid, 14, simply referred to as Christiana, was said to have left the house with Mayowa, the victim, at around 7 pm when no one was at home.

Punch, reports:

Iyabo and Leo Aweda, who are the parents of the toddler, instructed the maid to tidy the home before their return, however Leo was said to have returned and met the home in the same condition they left it.

He then left with his older son, to the salon, and when he got back, he said the maid was no where to be found.

“A resident said he saw leaving around 7 pm. She left with a rechargeable lamp. That was the only thing she took away, all her belongings are still at home.

We got her in July, through my wife’s friend Iya Samuel. We enrolled her in a private school and my wife sendsN5000 every monthto her mother. She is in Basic five and she is from Iseyin, Oyo state. I didn’t want my wife to employ her, he added.”

The mother revealed that Christiana had fled the house once after allegedly damaging a part of the generator but she was stopped by the security guards of the area.

New reports indicate that the maid and the baby had been found under the bridge at Oshodi.
