11 Year-Old Slashed Her Wrists In School | Her Reason Will Break Your Heart
Mohammed Obuamah Addy, has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old pupils said to be his niece slashed her wrist as a result of the ordeal. This occurred between August of last year and January of this year.
According to the readings provided by the prosecutor, Detective Inspector Atimbiri, the victim had been going to Mohammed’s house to watch a Telenovela with two of his children. Modern Ghana reports that in August last year, the victim went to Mohammed’s room to watch the Telenovela when he sent his children away and locked the door. He then gagged the victim with a handkerchief and forcibly had sex with her, after which, he threatened her not to disclose it to anyone else unless he would sack her mother from where she sells her food. He continued to make it a habit of raping her anytime she came to play with his children.
It was reported that the little girl was fed up with her predicament, and on February 9 during school hours, slashed herself on the left arm with a blade and bled profusely. After being questioned by her teacher, the victim narrated her ordeal, leading to the arrest of Mohammed.
The trial judge, Abena Oppong Adjin Doku, refused the accused bail based on the close relationship between the accused and the victim as well as their closeness in terms of residence. He instead opted for a speedy trial of the case and adjourned hearing until March 1.
