Update: Police Arrest Popular Businessman, IVD Following The Gruesome Death Of His Wife, Bimbo

Popular auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna better known as IVD, has been arrested by the Nigerian police.

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a tweet posted this evening, adding that the 37-year-old businessman has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba.

His tweet reads:

”Contrary to claims by family and friends that 37-year-old Ikechukwu Ogbonna aka IVD is on the run, he has been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.”

IVD, a father of five has been accused of complicity in the death of his wife, Bimbo, following years of alleged domestic violence.

Bimbo died on Saturday, October 15, 2022, after suffering fatal burns in a fire incident at her home in Lagos.

Family members and friends of the deceased made several claims and accusations that IVD was the one who pushed her into the fire and was directly responsible for her death due to the physical abuse he subjected her to throughout the duration of their marriage.
