Nigerian Mom Laments Her Regrets Over Losing Son To Brain Tumor | A Must Read For All Pregnant Women

A Nigerian woman identified as Enitan Akande is blaming herself for being the cause of her son’s death.

According to the grieving mother, her little son died of a brain tumor because she failed to take medications while pregnant.

In a post shared on social media, Enitan expressed her grief and guilt, saying she blames herself for her son’s death because he would not have developed a brain tumor if she had taken her routine drugs as prescribed by her doctor.

She revealed this on Monday, April 8, 2024, after a medical practitioner identified as Dr. Sina advised all women who want to become pregnant in the future to begin taking Folic acid tablets daily.

According to Dr Aina, babies born to mothers with low Folic acid can have brain problems, malformed brains, and spinal cord problems.

He wrote:

“Every woman irrespective of her age who wants to get pregnant in the future should start taking Folic acid tablets every day. Folic acid is necessary for the development of the Brain & spinal cord of babies. Don’t wait till you get Pregnant. Start today.

“Tell a sis. A 3-month supply can cost around 500- 1000 naira. Fairly affordable. Babies born to mothers with low Folic acid can have brain problems, malformed brains, and spinal cord problems (see pic) even those born without a brain…(Neural tube defects).”
