Robin Williams’ Widow Challenges Will Made For His Estate With His Kids

Robin Williams’ widow has gone to court seeking the late comedian’s watch collection and other disputed items, leaving his three kids “heartbroken,” new court paperwork reveals.

Susan Schneider Williams filed her petition in San Francisco in December asking for clarification of “ambiguous” trust provisions governing the famed actor’s clothing, jewelry, memorabilia, awards and eccentric collections.

In her claim, William’s third wife argued that the “Good Will Hunting” star wanted his adult kids Zack, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 23, to share in the contents of the family’s estate in Napa, Calif., but not in the knick knacks and personal effects tied to the house he shared with her in nearby Tiburon.

Any other interpretation would lead to her home “being stripped” while she still lives there, she claimed.

“It is difficult to imagine Mr. Williams desiring” an outcome where his kids lay claim to the tuxedo he wore to his 2011 wedding, the filing obtained by the Daily News said.

Schneider Williams also asked the court to advise all parties that Williams’ “watches are not jewelry and should therefore be treated as contents of the Tiburon home that are part of the Susan Trust.”

She claimed she felt compelled to seek court intervention after the trustee for the kids’ estate “insisted on gaining access” to her Tiburon house last September — just one month after Williams’ shocking suicide — to remove personal property.

“Naturally, Mrs. Williams became frightened of the co-trustees invading her home” and was “forced” to retain a lawyer, her filing stated.

Williams’ kids countered that the widow repeatedly refused them access to family photos and “precious” collections of Japanese anime figurines, watches, bicycles, books, coins and other effects that Williams carefully amassed over his lifetime and bequeathed to his kids as his memorabilia and jewelry.

They said Schneider Williams held them at bay for months while she allegedly implemented a $30,000 home renovation.

“The Williams children are heartbroken that petitioner, Mr. Williams’ wife of less than three years, has acted against his wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate,” lawyers for the kids’ estate said in a response filed Jan. 21.

“For their part, the Williams children have sought to resolve any potential disputes and conclude the trust administration process as quickly and efficiently as possible, to allow them to privately grieve the loss of their father and begin to heal from this tragic event,” their filing said.

A hearing has been set for March 30. The unexpected court battle was first reported by TMZ.com.

Williams passed away Aug. 11 at age 63 in a death quickly ruled a suicide by hanging.

Schneider Williams later revealed that the legendary comedian had been struggling with deep depression, anxiety and a secret diagnosis of Parkinson’s.
