Pastor Faith Oyedepo’s Note To Single & Married Women On ‘Submission In The Home’ May Gladden Or Displease You
Submission in marriage has become a curse word in our culture today. It’s a touchy subject, not least because it’s often understood as being sexist or no-matter-what complete obedience to your husband’s instruction.
It is a controversial topic as different people give different meanings to the word as used in the Holy book, Bible.
Pastor Faith Oyedepo, in a post she shared on her social media pages, talked about the sensitive topic as regards the home. She counseled single women willing to get married to ensure they are ready to be under their proposed husbands’ authority; else, that marriage may never work.
Mama Faith, who is married to the 64-year old founder and presiding bishop of the 50,000 capacity megachurch, Faith Tabernacle, Ota, Ogun State and the Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners’ chapel, Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, while speaking on the topic, “submission in the home’ stated that in God’s divine order, submission from a wife to her husband is a necessary requirement for making the marriage work.
The 61-year-old mom-of-four who is also many times a grand-mom, and who celebrated 37 years in marriage on August 21, 2019, also urged married women not to wait for enforced submission, rather they must willingly put themselves under their husband’s authority. She wrote:

”SUBMISSION IN THE HOME. In God’s divine order, submission from a wife to her husband is a necessary requirement for making a marriage work.
It is also a command from God (Ephesians 5:21-24). Although sometimes submission may appear as foolishness to the world, to the believer, it is wisdom.
To my single daughters, before you agree to marry any man, ensure that you are willing and ready to put yourself under his authority; else, that marriage may never work.
Married ladies, don’t wait for enforced submission; willingly put yourself under your husband’s authority.
#Submission #godlyrelationship.”
Mrs Oyedepo also penned a motivating message to the singles saying:
”To the singles and those trusting God for marital settlement, please know that you are not a substandard, challenged or incomplete being. Never entertain such feelings or thoughts! In fact, let me state categorically here that being single is neither a curse nor is it a disease.
See AlsoIt is a blessing; a plus, not a minus, an addition, not a subtraction. Singleness is a phase of life that you must pass through and the faster you are able to maximise the season and pass the examinations of that phase of life, the faster you move on to the next phase of your life.
It’s benefits include:
1. The opportunity to draw near to God
2. Freedom from marital responsibilities
3. Biblical independence for growth.
