In a new episode of “Mercy’s Menu”, Nollywood sweetheart and super mom-of-two Ufuoma McDermott joins Mercy Johnson Okojie in the kitchen to prepare a Nigerian soup.
Mercy Johnson and Ufuoma team up to prepare Egusi soup while the two women discuss family, marriage, domestic violence, cyber bullying and raising kids. She said:
”I have been married for 8 years. When I got married, the first 4 years for me was nothing. I think I finally got married in the 5th year. We had some really trying times at first.”
On how she and her husband settle issues in their marriage;
”I have made it clear in my marriage that it is okay to be angry because you have the right to be angry and I will let you exercise that right. The focus for you should be there is a reason I choose this man, so this issue will pass.”
Ufuoma further revealed a not so palatable experience she had with her son, where she beat him up so bad for throwing tantrums while she wanted to sleep and how she’s found better ways to correct her kids when they are wrong.
Ufuoma also discussed whether it is right or not to spank your child and learning to cope with a partner from a different background. The 38-year-old went on to talk on an incident that happened with her mother in-law and we’ve got the hot gist for you.
