Newly Married Man Shot Dead After Trying to Stop Domestic Dispute Between a Couple

A man who had only just wedded his wife 3 weeks ago has ended up dead after he tried to settle a domestic dispute between his neighbours.

According to Dailymail, a day before Father’s day, Ricardo Vaca, a newlywed Florida man who had been married for only three weeks, was shot dead after trying to intervene in an argument between a man, Placido Moreno and his wife, Amparo Moreno in a double killing that also left the shooter’s wife dead in the street, officials said.

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 47-year-old shooter late Saturday following a shooting at his home near Fort Myers.

Neighbors told investigators they heard Moreno-Torres arguing with his wife around 9:25 p.m.

Police believe Vaca became concerned after hearing the couple arguing in their home on 9th Street West and went over to ‘intercede and mediate.’

‘His neighborly act appears to be his only involvement in the matter,’ the Lee County sheriff’s office wrote in a press release.

Investigators said Moreno-Torres fatally shot Vaca and 44-year-old Amparo Moreno before running from the scene.
