See what my husband gave me as Val gift. How do I pay him back?
I have been married to my husband for about 4 years. We were separated for 6 months due to his violence and verbal abuse. After much intervention from both families, I had to go back. I had a baby about 2 months ago.
On Wednesday 14th February, Valentine’s day, I took her for inoculation. I had wished my husband a happy Valentine’s day earlier and had told him that the baby is his Valentine’s present for this year cos I do not have money to buy him a gift but I promised him that I will throw a big birthday for him on his birthday in April. He was okay with it.
I had thought that we would celebrate Valentine together but my husband left home at about 3 p.m. My baby was having fever due to the inoculation, the weather was very hot and there was no electricity.
I tried to power the generator but it wouldn’t start, I called him to let him know the situation but he didn’t answer his calls. I called him 5 times. He called back about 30 minutes later to say that he didn’t hear his phone ringing. He told me that he was at a joint with his friends and would soon be coming home.
By 10:00 p.m, my husband wasn’t back. I called again and he said he would be back soon. He finally came home but it was at past 11 p.m. He started shouting that I have spoilt the generator. My reply was that I only tried to power it when the baby was hot and besides, if he had returned home earlier, I wouldn’t have attempted to start the generator. Then I added that when others are spending Val’s day with their wives, he chose to spend it outside with his girlfriend.

That was all I said and my husband gave me a dirty slap and began to hit me mercilessly even with the baby in my hand. I am so hurt now and I want to pay him back. What can I do to hurt him back?
Note: He didn’t get me any gift for Valentine, he didn’t spend it with me and he came back from his outing beating me.

This is so not good and disgusting. A man dare raise his hand on a nursing mother who happens to be his wife? The rate of domestic violence in this part of the world has gotten to it yield point. The Government needs to take a drastic step to protect these married women.
I can advice a woman to bear and overlook any of his husband’s shortcomings except one. That’s to physically abuse his wife on several occasions. Madam if he can hit you with your two months old baby on your hand, it means he’s a beast. Sorry to say he will do far worse subsequently. The best gift you can give to him is to walk out of that marriage and never look back. Thank you.
