Mum Claims Badly Burned Baby Boy Spontaneously Combusted

A mum claims her badly burnt six-day-old baby spontaneously  combusted after rushing him to a hospital for treatment. Doctors are however running tests on the injured baby who is receiving round-the-clock treatment.

Dr N Gunasekaran, dean of the hospital, said: “We have sent wound swabs for tests. The results will be out in two days. We will decide on further tests and treatment on Monday.”

This baby’s case makes it the second child she’ll claim spontaneously combusted. In August, 2013, Mrs Rajeswari brought her then three-month-old son Rahul in for treatment claiming he had burst into flames for the FOURTH time.

Baffled medical professionals at the time took part in a thorough study and analysed his sweat, blood, urine and genes. Although they found no actual cause for the fires, there was no evidence to support his mum and dad’s theory.

Following the 2013 case, Dr Jagan Mohan, head of burns at the Kilpauk hospital, said: “I still stand by what I said that there is no such thing as spontaneous human combustion.”

Rahul’s parents claim they were forced to leave their home because villagers repeatedly accused them of setting the child on fire.
