Would You Pay £21,000 To Get Your Baby A Unique Name No One Else In the World Has?

Culled – With celebrities creating a pressure to name your child something original, it is little wonder a company has come up with an innovative solution for the super-rich.

But the service offered by Erfolgswelle – at an eye watering cost of £21,000 – will put Kim and Kanye’s ‘North’, Beyonce’s ‘Blue Ivy’ and Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Apple’ to shame.

The Swedish company claims to be able to create a totally unique and ‘unheard of’ name for parents’ little bundles of joy.

The process of creating a name individually tailored to a family apparently takes 100 hours and involves a vast team of professionals from numerous specialties.

The actual names are created by a team of 13 copywriters with guidance from children’s name specialists.

Their creations are then checked by four historians to ensure that they have no negative connotations in the past and have not been held by people in previous generations.

Twelve translators, who together speak most major languages across the globe, then check to see that the name is not in use in other countries and doesn’t translate into anything in any other language.

Two trademark attorneys also canvas the world’s registered company and product names to be certain that nothing else holds the £21,000 name.

Unbelievably Erfolgswelle also offer market research of the name.

Much in the same way companies test out new products and designs on a sample audience to gauge reaction, Erfolgswelle will submit their created names to a sample of ‘hundreds’ to see how it is perceived and to identify the favourite.

Speaking to MailOnline, CEO and owner of Erfolgswelle Marc Hauser explains: ‘We meet the families and take an in depth brief to understand their cultural background and needs. We first present them with a selection of about 15-25 names and based on their preferences out of those we go away and come back with another 15. It’s a bit like a game of ping pong, we go back and forth to discover what they want and their tastes, but the family is always in charge.  There are certain rules to make sure it sounds good with the family name, that it rolls off the tongue well. For example you can’t have a name that ends with the same letter that the surname begins with. In the end, we are left with about three to five names which we check in incredible depth. Once a name has been chosen we submit it to a test group of 780 people to find out what people think of it.’

Erfolgswelle only began this new venture in January 2015 and have already had several requests.

Due to the involved nature of creating a name, they were unable to give any examples.

However Marc says: ‘As far as is humanly possible we ensure our client have a totally unique, unheard of name.’

So, if affordable, would you spend a whooping £21,000 to get a name nobody else in the world has for your baby?
