Paula Patton Talks Split From Estranged Husband, Robin Thicke 

In a new interview with Good Morning America, Paula Patton who split from husband, Robin Thicke, a little over a year ago, shared that it has been a challenging year but feels the decision to file for divorce was the right one.

‘I mean, the honest truth is, it has been challenging,’ the 39-year-old actress told Robin Roberts. ‘But it’s been a year of growth… learning about all new things. I feel like everything happens for a reason,’ she continued. ‘And then you have to move on and grow from there. The thing is, you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. Usually the positive in your life outweighs [anything else]. And you have to just be thankful for what you have right now.’

Paul, who met Thicke when they were both teenagers, shares a four-year-old son, Julian, with the singer.

The couple split in February 2014 after nine years of marriage, with Paula filing for divorce in October.
