Mum Sells 5-Year-Old Son To Raise Money To Travel Abroad With Lover
A mum in Sri Lanka and her alleged lover have been arrested for selling her five-year-old son for Sri Lankan Rs30,000 to raise money for them to travel abroad.
The incident came to light when the woman and her lover went to Colombo and stayed at a lodge to look for potential buyers. A reliable tip-off to police led to their arrest as the boy was sold to a police undercover agent.
The child has been handed over to Prajapathi Children’s Home, while the suspects will face legal action.
