Robber Uses His Baby As Shield During Police Shootout

A dad in Alabama, Rickie Rashee Walls, 30, reportedly brought his one-year-old son with his accomplice, Ronnie Lee Williams, 24, to rob a home and subsequently used him as human shield during police chase and shootout.

Both men were charged with third-degree theft and second-degree theft of property, Adamsville Police Chief R.W. Carter said.

Police were called to a house in the 3400 block of Poplar Lane around 11:10 a.m., for a robbery in progress.

Joe Hicks was mowing his lawn when he noticed a Jeep driving into in the driveway of his next door neighbor.
Hicks called his neighbor at work and asked if he expected company. The neighbor who said that he was not expecting anyone, decided to go home and see who was there.

The homeowner fired warning shots at the thieves before entering the home. That is when the thieves came out of the home and Walls “held the baby as a shield,” Carter said.

The two men escaped but were later arrested.
