Mum Whose Baby Was Grazed By Bullet While In The Womb Delivers

A baby was delivered in good condition at a hospital Tuesday after the newborn was possibly grazed in the womb by a bullet that struck the mom, according to authorities in Bakersfield, Calif.

Adrianna Bravo, who was eight and 1/2 months pregnant, suffered a single wound to her lower hip in a shooting that also seriously injured her husband Mario Bravo Jr. after gunfire rang out at 3:55 p.m. in the East Bakersfield area, officials in the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said. Police didn’t disclose whether the couple’s newborn was a boy or girl.

The mom is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, but her husband was in surgery with multiple wounds to his torso that left him in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators have yet to determine a motive for the shooting and don’t yet know if it was gang-related, officials in the sheriff’s office said.
