Shocking: School Teacher In Affair With A 12-Year-Old Student

A Greeley middle school teacher is accused of having sex with her teenage student and supplying the boy with marijuana, Fox 31 reports.

According to the media, the 24-year-old Katerina Bardos is still behind bars at the Weld County Jail. She was arrested earlier this week after police say they investigated her for three weeks.

The relationship with her 6th grade student, police say, began nearly a year ago. In just her second year of teaching, Bardos was in jail Friday night on $100,000 bond. She faces charges of sexual assault on a child by a person of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say it all started in her 6th grade classroom last year.

While Bardos admitted to supplying marijuana for the teen, she denied to police any sexual relationship with the boy.

The student, once questioned, admitted having sex with his teacher more times than he could count including in the parking lot of Frontier Academy where Bardos was teaching this school year.

But before that Bardos admitted to being close with the student – even letting him sleep over at her house while she was still his teacher at Brentwood Middle School last year.

In a written statement Brentwood said Bardos’ contract was not renewed after May of last year.

Though the school denied knowing about the relationship until the investigation began a few weeks ago, several teachers at the school told police they had seen Bardos and the student several times around town together and another teacher told police she knew Bardos frequently texted the boy.

Frontier Academy sent home a letter Friday to parents saying, “The first thing we want you to know is that the safety of our students is our number one priority, and we have been informed that the arrest was unrelated to any student at Frontier Academy.”

The school fired Bardos.
