Mum Runs Away After Police Discovered What She Did To Her 3 Children

A mum of three who left her small children home alone without food and heat in a freezing apartment has been on the run.

According to the Mirror: The youngest child, aged just 21 months, was said to be hours away from death. It has been claimed her other children, aged eight and three, were forced to eat toothpaste to avoid starvation after being abandoned without food for three days.

The mother was arrested five days later and her children have been taken into care.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due to be sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to cruelty through neglect between January 15 and 31.

A police officer familiar with the case, who did not wish to be named, said after the hearing: “We were shocked when we arrived at the flat. It was freezing cold, dirty and messy and clearly a dangerous place for three young children.
“Thankfully, the children are now thriving and are in a happy environment together as a family.”

A neighbour who asked to remain anonymous said the children were under orders from their absent mother not to answer the door. But a housing officer eventually persuaded them to let them in following a conversation through the letterbox.

He added: “The three-year-old finally opened the door. The eight-year-old was supposed to looking after the others and I heard he had been told not to let anybody else in while the mother was away.

“It was freezing cold and had just been snowing when they were found. They were starving hungry.
“The baby was strapped into a pram and had not had a nappy change for a long time.
“The other kids would not have known what to do. We gave them biscuits to eat.”
