Meet Newborn Twin Boys Born 30 Minutes Apart With Separate Birthdays

Twins, Benjamin and Theo Storey have different birthdays after being born half an hour apart either side of midnight. Graeme and Sarah Storey’s fraternal twin boys were born six weeks premature at Arrowe Park hospital, Liverpool, and are currently in the transitional care unit until they are big enough to go home.

Benjamin was born on Thursday, June 11, at 11.58pm, weighing 4lb 9oz, with Theo delivered by emergency caesarean at 12.30am the following day weighing 4lb 12oz.

Their dad, Graeme, said, “They are our first – we weren’t really planning it, they just came along. We found out we were having twins when Sarah had a scan. The midwife asked us what we could see and I said ‘splodges’. She said ‘how many?’ and I said ‘two’, then we realised what she meant! They’ve been born half an hour apart and it’s meant they have different birthdays. The first thing we thought was that we’ll have to have separate parties for them – so their 18th is going to be fun, and their 21st. But we want them to be individuals so it will help with that.”
