Mum Causes Controversy On Facebook After Posting Video Of Her Baby Rock Climbing Without Any Safety Rope

A mother has received a lot of responses on Facebook after posting a video of her 19-month-old daughter rock climbing without any safety rope. The video led to different opinions with some people supporting her while others were concerned about the safety of the child.

The Mirror reports:

In the clip, the small child is seen navigating the wall by testing out her grip on several foot holds before pulling herself steadily up 15 feet without any harnesses or ropes.

And while some have praised the child’s mother for letting her daughter learn to climb alone at such a young age, others have expressed their concerns.

Rachael Lee Farmer, the child’s mother has already responded to the comments on the social media site, writing: “She was perfectly safe, safer than if she were in a harness and on a rope.

“We always have a spotter on her even if you can’t see it in the video. But seriously, if you’re concerned, I will take time out of my own day to show you or anyone how safe my child is while climbing .

“I just ask that you come and watch her climb in person before you judge mine and my husband’s decisions.

“I am far from a novice climber myself and would never put my child in danger. That said, I will push her to be independent and strong just as she is in the video.”
