See How This Man Proposed to His Girlfriend

Victor Tang spent months trying to find an impressive way to ask his girlfriend, Stephanie Cheung, to marry him, and eventually came up with an extravagant plan which cost him more than £30,000.

Mirror reports;

After months of meticulous planning involving a five-figure budget, a helicopter ride and a skyscraper, Victor Tang had just 10 minutes to ensure all the elements of his elaborate plan came together and thankfully for the 37-year-old from Hong Kong, his hard work paid off with his teary fiancee saying ‘I do’.

Proposal 1

Victor splashed out HK$400,000 (around £33,000) to pop the question, spending half the amount on a 1.5-carat diamond engagement ring. He then booked the couple into a suite at the Ritz-Carlton more than 100 floors up with sweeping views of Victoria Harbour at a cost of around £2,000.

This was followed up by a £12,400 helicopter flight timed to fly past at the right time and carrying a giant banner which read “I love you! Stephanie BB, will you marry me?” He also splashed out a further £1,200 for a camera crew to capture the special moment.

Proposal 3

“She doesn’t like typical proposals,” Tang told the South China Morning Post speaking about his girlfriend of just over one year.

“She’s shy so she wanted something more private but something dramatic, exciting, not traditional.”

The helicopter’s round trip from its base took 50 minutes leaving just 10 minutes to ensure Victor’s proposal went trouble free before his one hour booking ended.

Speaking about the proposal Stephanie, 30, added: “I’m so surprised, I didn’t expect that it would happen today because before, I always chased him to propose but he just said ‘maybe November or December’ so this was totally beyond my expectations.”
