Former Take That star who has performed live in front of thousands of fans, Robbie Williams, has admitted lying in order not to attend his daughter’s parents’ evening, and he says it’s because the idea of meeting strangers scared him!

Robbie, 41, who is dad to 2-year-old girl currently at nursery, Theodora “Teddy” Rose, and 10-month-old son Charlton, adds that said he would need drugs to help him through such an event.

He added: “I don’t like that many people. It’s rare I get into the room and go, ‘Yeah, I like that person and that person,’ out of 5,000 people, let alone being thrown into a room full of parents. That scares me. There was a parent evening for the nursery Teddy goes to and it filled me full of fear. It was either take a Valium and go or pretend I’ve got to be in the studio… and that gets me out of everything. So I pretended I was in the studio. What are we going to talk about? Teddy isn’t even three. I don’t know what we were supposed to talk about.”

Robbie also said his daughter is a natural performer who could follow his footsteps into showbiz.

He added: “I’m bowled over. I’m able to have chats now with my little girl. She sings and she dances and she melts my heart. I’m in love.”
