8-months pregnant Stephanie Tallent was having an ultrasound Friday when she went into labor at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women in Houston, and she and fiance Jason Nese, both 41, decided to tie the knot before their baby’s arrival.

‘We had talked about it (being) important to us to get married before she was born,’ Tallent told the Houston Chronicle.

Fortunately, they had gotten their marriage license the day before, so, Nese fetched the license from his car, along with a white sun dress Tallent meant to send to the cleaners.

Dr Karla Wagner called the hospital chaplain, Rev Johnna Faber, to the room immediately while staff gathered roses for the ceremony. A party of doctors, nurses and clinic staff then gathered for the wedding.

After the ceremony, Tallent was prepped for a cesarean section, and daughter, Sophia, arrived a few hours later at 6 pounds 3 ounces.

Tallent and Sophia were discharged from the hospital on Monday. The new mom said the only problem her daughter had shown was a low-blood-sugar reading on Saturday.

‘She’s doing quite well for being pre-term,’ Tallent said. ‘It’s quite a blessing. We were very, very lucky.’
