See What Housemaid Did To Boss For Allegedly Maltreating Her

A 17-year-old house maid, Esther Abiodun, is facing a two count charge of assault and causing grievous bodily damage, for allegedly pouring hot water on her boss Dupe Agba, while she was asleep at her Lagos Island residence on September 14.

According to the Nation, Esther, initially had pleaded guilty when she was first arrainged in court on September 18 and was set to be convicted on Monday, but in a complete turn around, Esther changed her plea to not guilty.

Prosecuting Inspector, Philip Osijale, told the court that Esther committed the offence a day after she was employed and had confessed to the court that she deliberately poured hot water on her boss to teach her a lesson because she was maltreating her.

Recounting how the offence was commited, Osajale said Esther waited for her boss to go to sleep before boiling the water and pouring it on her body, leaving her with injuries on the hands, chest and other parts of the body.

Osijale said the woman is now receiving treatment at a hospital in Lagos.

Having changed her plea, Magistrate of the court, W. Balogun, set bail at N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till October 6.
