Nigerian Medical Doctor Allegedly Dies In Domestic Violence Situation

A Consultant Paediatric Surgeon with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, Dr Hestianna Thomas has been killed, allegedly in a case of domestic violence.

According to The Nation, the mum of two whose husband is a Consultant Clinical Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, was brought to LUTH in a battered state three days after she had last reported for duty.

The incident was discussed by workers in hushed tones as the brilliant doctor was described by some women as a compassionate doctor who helped saved their children’s lives.

A source revealed: “A close examination of her body revealed a lot of lacerations. In fact, I noticed that the head had a deep cut. When other colleagues also saw her, they said there was a deep cut on her skull, because they saw pierced bone. Her colleagues, especially the female doctors, were stunned when Dr Thomas was rushed in.”

  • Just imagine what that beast must have done to the deceased b4 she passed. I keep saying this “no woman should stay in an abusive home” bcos one day death will come in the process of beating. This is sad. Vry sad indeed.

  • most women will stay in an abusive relationship cos of the fear of loosing their kids. the Nigerian legal system is the cause of this. It is very difficult for a woman to leave cos of d fear of loosing their kids.

  • Very heartbreaking I must say. If only She was brave enough to take a long walk away from that beast of a husband. *sighs* RIP Dr.

  • Its jus sad, mayGod help d kids. May her soul rest in peace.
Women should learn from this situation leave before its too late think about d kids bcos only a mother can take care of her kids

  • My question is – where is the man who was involved in all of this? Where was the lady’s family when this was happening? Yes the lady is gone, so what next???? No justice???
