SAD! Gunmen Kill Electoral Officer Father and His Son in Port Harcourt

Dr Ebirien Fubara, a senior lecturer at the Ignatius Ajuru University in Rivers State who was the returning officer in the 28 March House of Representatives election for Obio Akpor federal constituency in Rivers State, has been killed alongside his son at their residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Vanguard reports. The sad incident is said to have happened over the weekend.

Interestingly, the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers state, Ahmad Muhammad said that the police was not aware of the unfortunate incident. The late Fubara was appointed a Commissioner in the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, by Governor Nyesom Wike. The killers reportedly stormed his Odili Road residence in Port Harcourt where they first killed his second son with a rod and then clubbed Dr. Fubara till he became unconscious.

The assassins fled thinking they had achieved their aim of killing the man. Sadly, Dr Fubara who was taken to the hospital reportedly died and his body taken to a morgue.
