4-Year-Old Boy Left Stranded With Dead Mum for Two Days

Shaleena Hamilton is being credited for rescuing Hamilton’s 4-year-old son, Bryan Keith Allen who spent two days alone with Hamilton’s body, Buffalo News reports.

43-year-old Shaleena Hamilton had died suddenly and couldn’t answer the door to her Buffalo apartment when Littleton had arrived; her son eventually opened the door after telling Littleton he couldn’t wake up his mother.

Littleton reportedly called 911 and took Bryan to his work truck, where he wrapped the boy in a blanket. Police say the boy survived on milk and maple syrup for two days. An autopsy determined his mother died of natural causes. Bryan has been placed in the care of relatives.

However, the thought of a little boy alone with his dead mother, drinking milk and maple syrup to survive, especially touched the homicide detectives so they reached out to Nichols, who is known in the department for finding ways to promote good will between police and the citizens. Nichols said,

“The homicide detectives said to me, if ever there was a situation where someone was in need, this child qualifies.”

He then made arrangements to purchase a two-wheel bicycle for the child with money from a special grant designated to assist community members. But the detectives wanted to do even more to make Bryan feel special so they organised a reception for Bryan and his family at the Buffalo Police Headquarters. Police also took a step further by appealing to the public to help make Bryan’s first Christmas without his mother nice and special by dropping off gifts at their station for the little boy.
