See How Wife of Late Iconic Rock Star, David Bowie, Pays Homage to Him

60-year-old Iman Abdulmajid posted a series of moving messages which showed the Somalian supermodel really loved her husband, the late iconic rock star David Bowie, Daily Mail reports. Iman reportedly shared an image on Twitter saying, ‘The struggle is real, but so is God,’ along with the caption ‘Rise’, on the day of Bowie’s death.
Another of the touching tweets posted by Iman included the message, ‘Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.’

Although Iman has not commented publicly since the death of her husband of 24 years, she reportedly left a number of loving messages to mark his 69th birthday on Friday.

‘I will love you til i die, i will see you in the sky #tonight happy birthday mr. bowie,’ she wrote next to a photograph of her husband with Tina Turner.

Other messages posted to her 108,000 Twitter followers on Friday were,

‘Happy Birthday to the man who fell to earth. Forever Bowie. Life isn’t about avoiding the bruises. It’s about collecting the scars to prove we showed up for it.’

Bowie, whose ground-breaking music inspired generations during a career spanning six decades, died on Sunday at the age of 69 after being diagnosed with cancer.

The Somali-born model was married to Bowie in a romantic ceremony in Tuscany on 24 April 1992 and they had one daughter, 15-year-old Alexandria Zahra, known as Lexi.

Before his marriage to Iman, Bowie was married to Angie Barnett from 1970 to 1980, with their son Duncan, originally known as Zowie Bowie, born in 197. Duncan Jones is now a successful film director whose works include ‘Moon’ and ‘Source Code’ starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

In one of the several interviews conducted over the years, Iman said,

‘David doesn’t fight. He is English, so he just stays quiet. I’m the screamer. Then he always makes me laugh. It’s like cabaret. I keep him entertained too. I still fancy him—totally!—after all these years.’

She reportedly also told Naomi Campbell in an interview that,

‘First I think you’ve got to feel hot for each other and respect each other. That’s where it starts. Also, we are very private so we decided from early on that we will keep the press and editors and everybody out of our house. So we totally understand the difference between the public and the private. And we have fun with each other. He’s very English in a way that he’s a gentleman.’
