Celine Dion’s Husband, René, Passes Away After His Long Battle With Cancer
Celine’s mentor, manager and husband finally went home to his creator after battling throat cancer.
Rene Angeli who passed away at his Vegas home on Thursday morning had been battling throat cancer since 2013.
A representative of the family release a statement, saying, “Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning as his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer. The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time.”
René had been undergoing treatment for the disease, but his struggle was very difficult on Celine as well as the pair’s three children – 14-year-old son, Rene, and five-year-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson.
Almost two years ago, Celine took a break from her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino when René’s illness worsened, but returned to the stage in August 2015. (see here)

Celine Dion loves Rene with everything she’s got. Rene on the other hand has given this cancer a great fight. This is sad but am sure he’s in a better place.

This is so so so sad. Celine Dion is one grateful lady who loves her husband. When she got famous she never left this man. Because when most ppl become famous, that is when they’ll find fault with their spouses especially if they are quite grown. But no, Celine Stood by him till he finally went home. My heart goes out to you Celine. Love you bunch. And your songs does magic in my home..hahaha.
