Family Murdered In Mexico… Including Seven-Month Old Boy

According to Mirror UK, a Mexican boy, identified as Marcos Miguel Pano Colón, was being carried by his 24-year-old father, Juan Alberto Pano Ramos, and accompanied by his 17-year-old mother, Alba Isabel Colón, when their attackers opened fire on the trio in the city of Pinotepa Nacional on Friday evening. All three died on the spot.

The police have since arrested four people in relation to the murders which is reported to have been gang-related. The horrific event has sparked fierce debate about the country’s rampant gang violence and society’s acceptance of it.

People have likened the innocent baby’s murder to Alan Kurdi, the three year old Syrian toddler whose drowned body was washed ashore on a Turkish beach as his family tried to escape war-torm Syria.

One commenter said, “we always support foreign countries and believe that what happens in Mexico is either something we deserve or that it is normal. Like when people put the French flag in their photos – that was just an attack, but here in Mexico thousands of innocent people die every day because of crime.”

A memorial was held for the murdered family in Pinotepa Nacional on Monday with hundreds of people including many children in attendance to light candles, pray and sing.
