‘You Never Forget, But You Move On’ – Couple Share on Losing 7 Kids in Farmhouse Fire 5 Years Ago

A Pennsylvania couple, Janelle and Ted Clouse, who lost seven of their eight children in a farmhouse fire 5 years ago, have shared on their loss as they try to rebuild their lives.

The couple who live on a dairy farm in rural Pennsylvania had been busy with their usual routine outside their home on March 8, 2011 when a fire they still can’t ascertain the cause ripped through their home and killed the deceased children who were trapped inside.

Five years later, the couple reveal their deceased children’s birthdays and their family holidays are constant reminders of their painful loss.

Ted said, “You hate to lose what you had. But if you dwell on that, you are going to lose those things you have right here. You never forget, but you move on.” Janelle added, “It’s a process to go back to really living. You’re not sure how to go about it.”

The couple were reportedly pregnant with a boy, Gabriel, when the ugly incident happened and have since had 3 other kids; Yvonne, 3, Gordon, 2 and Jedidiah, 10 months old in addition to Leah, their then three-year-old daughter who survived the fire. They are also expecting a baby boy, due in April.

As the couple rebuild their brood and lives, their home is now reportedly filled with lots of smoke detectors and sprinklers.
