Teen Who Welcomed Baby Boy in Toilet Claims She Had No Idea She Was Pregnant
A 17-year-old girl who gave birth to a baby boy in the toilet at her home on Tuesday morning claims she had no idea she was pregnant.
According to WDJT, Braeley Pettigrew from Wiscousin said she had been feeling sick lately and had no idea she was pregnant. She said at around 3:30am, she got up to use the bathroom. She added that she thought she was having a tough bowel movement until she looked down and saw a baby in the toilet.
She became scared, cut the umbilical cord and wrapped the baby up.
The young mum then took the baby to her mum and told her someone left him outside on the porch. Her mum however noticed blood on her clothes and quickly called the police.
The teenage mum and her baby were subsequently taken to the hospital.
The teen mum said, ”I never thought I would be having a baby at 17, but my first instinct was to get him out of the toilet and wrap him up to keep him warm.”
She also told the police she cooked up the story about the baby’s abandonment because she was scared her mum would be upset, but later told the truth after her mum showed support.
According to police, no charges will be pressed against her.
She named the baby Kayden after deciding to keep him.
Wow…..this happens to some people, not knowing they’re pregnant until the baby pops out. Glad she didn’t throw him away.
