LOL! You Won’t Believe Why These Single Men Protested In Turkey

A group of lonely and angry men from a village in Turkey have protested against women in their village for refusing to accept their marriage proposal.

According to a report from Dailymail, the women said they do not want to be caged in the remote village of Uzumlu in Southern Turkey.

The men, however, said they are being unreasonable and staged a protest, marching through the village with banners and urging the ladies to accept the village life.

The men used the opportunity to call on Turkey’s president, Recap Tayyip Erdogan, to help them.

A mayor, Mustafa Bashbilan told the Al Arabiya there were 25 single men, aged between 25 and 45, in the village but the last wedding in the village was 9 years ago and since then, its population has dropped from 400 to 233.

He added that most of the young women in the town had chosen to move to the cities like Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya but the men decided to stay behind to man their family farmland. He added that the town was not bad but the unhappiness of the single men was becoming a social problem.

Meanwhile, just last month, the president, while giving a speech marking International Women’s day, said he believed ‘a woman is above all else a mother’.

Erdogan has been criticized in the past for urging Turkish women to have at least 3 children and calling birth control ‘Treason’

The protesters promised to impregnate their future wives with 5 children each, but while that might suit the president, it is unlikely to change the minds of the women in the village.
