True Love? Man Gives Up Wealth To Live With His Village Wife

A multimillionaire has given up his wealth and metropolitan lifestyle to be with his new wife in her modest rural village.

According to Mirror, Yao Nanshan made his great fortune abroad in Spain where he ran a restaurant chain business in Seville for 30-years.

Yao and  Liu Lijuan met whilst he was stranded in the mountains on holiday. After then, they kept in touch and in December 2015, they got married and want to live a simple life with her, where she comes from.

The multimillionaire husband gave up living in any of his seven homes in his hometown of Qingtian, Southeast China, saying he had always wanted to detach himself from the ‘big city experience.’

Yao, who lost his first wife in 2002 to aggressive stomach cancer thought he had lost the purpose of his life in her death, despite his great riches.

Later in 2013, Yao went on a hiking trip to a local mountain, where he and a friend got lost and missed their last bus to take them back to their destination, Qingtian.

They had no option than to ask for help from local villagers to pass the night. Fortunately for them, they stumbled upon Liu’s home.

He was impressed by Liu’s ‘kindness and ‘happiness’ when they got to her house, despite her cruel and difficult upbringing she had experience in her life which had left her in abject poverty.

After he left for Spain, the duo kept in touch as they were attracted to each other.

He later returned to the village to see Liu and profess his love to her.

Yao told reporters that at first, Liu did not believe him as she thought he was playing with her considering the financial gap between them.

Breaking the news of their impending marriage, Yao gave up all his vast wealth, properties and businesses to his three children from his deceased wife to live a more ‘rustic’ life.

Moving to the village with his love, Yao has purchased a small countryside hostel since their wedding last year on Christmas day, so as to make a meagre but good living together.
