12 Year Old Girl Killed by Leopard that Dragged her Out of Bed in India
A 12-year-old girl, identified as Ravina, has been killed by a leopard after it dragged her away while sleeping next to her parents at her home in India, Daily Mail reports.
The leopard grabbed the child by her neck around midnight as she slept with her father, Ranjit Singh, and mother on the terrace of their house on Wednesday.
Sources say that it was not until around 4 am that the girl’s parents realised she was missing. They then launched a frantic search for her and found the child’s mutilated body covered in mud in the backyard of the family home in a village near Udaipur, in India. There were teeth marks found on the girl’s body and villagers are reportedly angry that authorities have not done more to stop leopard attacks.
This incident is the second of its kind this month in the area where leopards are frequently sighted. Police and forest authorities have been called in to search for the animal.
