Woman Wanted For Killing Pregnant Mother & Her Unborn Child Appears On FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives’ List

A 24-year-old Wisconsin woman, identified as Shanika S. Minor, has been added to the FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives’ list for killing her mother’s pregnant neighbour five days to her due date.

BuzzFeed News reports that Minor has been on the run since March 6 when she fatally shot 23-year-old Tamecca Perry, killing her unborn child in the process, during an argument over loud music. The victim retreated to her residence after she was shot outside and died in front of her two children.

A local arrest warrant has since charged Minor with first-degree intentional homicide for the woman and her unborn child. A federal arrest warrant was also later issued and she was charged with unlawful flight to avoid persecution. Minor was included in the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list yesterday.

According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Shields, this development makes Minor the first person from Milwaukee and the seventh from Wisconsin to appear on the list. She is the 509th person, but the 10th woman ever, to feature on the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list since its creation in March 1950.

Shields said, “The brutal murder of a mother and her unborn child is reprehensible.” He added that Minor, who should be considered armed and dangerous, may have contacts in Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and Georgia.

In a statement, Special Agent Chad Piontek, from the FBI’s Milwaukee Field Office said, “This was a senseless crime, and we believe Minor is capable of more violence. We need to capture her so that no one else is harmed.”

The FBI revealed that it is offering a $100,000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the wanted woman.

“Our hope is that whoever is assisting her will find the potential reward more attractive than protecting a person wanted for first-degree murder,” Piontek said.
