Together Forever: Couple Die Holding Hands After 58 Years Of Marriage

Two high school lovers who celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 1 have taken their love even to death as they both died within hours of each other, holding hands.

According to reports from WRAI, George and Ora Lee Rodriguez, both aged 78 died the same way they lived together after spending nearly 60 years of their lives together.

The couple’s daughter, Corina Martinez said: “I just can’t believe something like this would ever happen.

“You hear this on the movies, like ‘The Notebook.'”

Martinez says George and Ora Lee first met in a San Antonio, USA, meat market where George was working as a butcher. After serving as a Marine, George married Ora Lee and they moved to the city’s West Side.

She recalls: “He was working as a butcher, at Tony’s meat market on Culebra, he met her there.”

Together, they raised three daughters.

Unfortunately, they both developed dementia, and George suffered a stroke. Through it all, their love held strong.

Despite their challenges, their love held strong. Their loving family took care of them at home.

Martinez continued: “They were both here… in their hospital beds, right beside each other, they were holding hands.”

On Tuesday, surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, George died in his sleep. Three hours later, so did Ora Lee.

Another of their daughters Georgia Perez said: “My mother would always say that she was going to take my father or vice versa.

“And it did happen, we didn’t think it would, but it did.”

The couple’s death was a reflection of their life together, side by side, hand in hand.
