See Why A Father Tortured His Children with Hot Knife

Alhaji Kasali Mumuni, 41, a resident of Akure, allegedly burnt and tortured his two children with a hot knife over eating the remaining piece of fish in the pot. Reports state that Kasali, has been married thrice and none of his wives lasted three years as they were sent packing with their kids.

Vanguard, gathered, that the current wife of the man who is without a child, was opposed to the children living with them and asked Mumuni, to send them to their mothers house. The two children are Maryam, 9 and Ojonla, 6.

When Mumuni, returned from work on the day of the incident, he was served rice without fish, he was furious and demanded why it was so. His wife lied and said the children had stolen it.

Maryam, said their father on hearing this, beat them to a pulp, adding that he took out a knife and heat it up on the stove.

“When the knife was hot and turned red he pressed it on our stomach one after the other. We cried and begged but our father refused to remove the knife. Our neighbours who heard our cries rushed to the scene only to be told by our father that they should mind their businesses. He held us down for some minutes as the knife was pressed on our stomach,” she said

Meanwhile, Maryam, narrated the incident, saying Ojonla, actually ate out of the fish, and left the rest for their dad. However, it was their step mother that ate the rest. She added that, it was the neighbours who informed

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who rushed to the scene and rescued them.
“We were taken to the state hospital by the officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps who later reported informed the Welfare department of the state Ministry of Women Affairs,” she said.
Information gathered, reveals that the father is currently in detention  in  Owo town and would soon be transferred to the state police command headquarters in Akure, for further interrogation and prosecution. The mother of the children has relocated to Akure, to take care of them.
