57 Year Old Woman & Eight Others Raped By Four Man Gang In Lagos

A four – man gang has been arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state police command.

The suspects identified as Sunday John 27, Daniel Olayemi 18, Saviour Daniel, 23 and Abdulwahab Yusuf 17 were caught at the oshodi area of the state by the operatives.

Punch Metro reports that police first apprehended Olayemi at the area, fighting a member of a rival gang over a stolen phone, which led to the apprehension of the gang leader, identified as john the next morning and other members. Olayemi who gave a statement to the police, said this:

“We always operate at charity bustop from 4am to 5am. Our last operation was of a woman about 57 years of age. She was passing by and i snatched her hand bag and disappeared into the bush. I came out of the bush only to see three of our gang members having sex with her. I hid 3 of the best phones i found and told them it was two small phones i found.”

Olayemi confessed that they had a similar operation, days ago, where they robbed and raped a woman in her 40’s at the same spot. He also confirmed that the leader of the gang, John would always drag the victims into the bush before allowing them to take turns in raping the victim. Daniel, another gang member told newsmen, that the leader of the gang, always forced them to rape the victims, but that he only participated in three of the rape incidents.

John, the notorious leader of the gang, confirmed the cases and said that they had raped a total of 9 women in the past two weeks, and while their primary aim of operation was to rob, they ended up raping most of the women. He told police about how they had raped a 24 year old lady a the same bus stop.

The state police public relations officer,  Dolapo Badmos, said the case has been transferred to the criminal intelligence division and that the suspects were cooperating with the police.
