Woman Reveals Why She Abandoned Her Fiancé at the Altar

A woman named Bunmi, recently revealed to her Twitter followers why she abandoned her fiancé at the altar in 2015. Apparently, her parents and family had pressured her into accepting her then boyfriend’s marriage proposal, as she was over age 30, and they feared she was getting to old to be a single girl.

See her tweets below:

Parents, don’t force your children into marriage! Forget societal pressures, let them get married on their own terms and at their own time. Unless situations like this could happen, or even worse, they could be in a loveless, abusive marriage that leads to resentment and/or a bad divorce.

  • Kudos Bunmi. Your happiness comes first. Personally, no matter the pressure, I won’t let it get to the alter before canceling. Good thing is nobody can pressure me to that level, my family kuku know me well.

  • Girl well job but u don’t av let it gone to that stage before telling d guy it as gone far ,and parents should not decided for there children dat u must marry so so so person it very bad but I thank God for my parent coz they did nt choose for me they allow me to follow my heart desire i thank God for that

  • This lady is very wicked. She is claiming she was pressurized. Pressurized to accept the proposal, went on with the wedding arrangement, engagement, traditional and then waited till the wedding day before saying she could not go on with the wedding! Haba, this is wickedness!
Obviously the guy loved her to have proposed, why was she stringing him on. Of course her happiness matters but she doesn’t care about other peoples happiness. She has hurt so many people. What she did on the wedding day should have been done long ago. I pray no man will stand her up on her wedding day

  • Happiness is the priority in marriage but the issue is that most people focus on the celebration and forget about the main thing.

  • You shouldn’t have waited till the wedding day.
I feel this is the worse thing to do to someone.
Why didn’t you reject the proposal?
Now you’re giving us this crap about your own happiness?
    This is unfair.
Coz he’s a human being too whose feelings you should have also considered.
You led him on, only to ditch him on the happiest day of his life.
There’s no excuse for what you did.
Ask for forgiveness and make things right.

  • u dont claim happiness at the expense of others y dint u let go befr leading him to d alter
