TV Presenter Eku Edewor on How Motherhood Has Changed Her Style | Advises on Baby Products
British Nigerian actress and television presenter Eku Edewor features on Accelerate TV’s “The Cover” Magazine and the new mum shares her experience with motherhood and how it has changed her unique style.
Edewor, who welcomed a baby girl with billionaire Sunny Odogwu‘s son, photographer Chini Odogwu this year, says she stopped wearing heels for now because of her baby as she carries her all the time.
In the interview, she advises new moms to buy products with natural ingredients for their babies – the less chemical the better, according to her.

”I definitely have an appreciation for flats now even though I was never really a heels-person.
I wore heels to work, now I am always trying to incorporate ways that I can wear a lower heel or just more comfortable shoes but maybe when my baby is a little older and a lot more independent, (I’ll ditch the flats again).
Maybe it’s because I am carrying her all the time and I always want her with me, I discovered that it is safer to be closer to the ground.”
Advice for new mothers on baby products?
”Any product that I use, I read reviews, first of all just to make sure that nobody is selling me a dud. I learn about the ingredients on the bottle. I think for babies, it is better to always go as natural as possible.
That doesn’t mean that those brands that you look at the back of the bottle and don’t understand the ingredients aren’t natural, because that might just be the technical name for the natural product. I think I used to get confused about that and be like ‘uh, shouldn’t it just be coconut oil, full stop?’
There are pretty great products for babies, I use Mustela, which I chose particularly because of the smell. I found it in a pharmacy in London, it was the nicest smelling product, it smells like a baby if you know what I mean. I was like this is a baby smell, I even had to buy the perfume for my daughter because it was a baby’s smell in a bottle.”

”I would say that my style is like eclectic elegance or like an exciting classic. It is sort of like a contradiction because I like out-of-the-box pieces but I don’t like to be too trendy, I still like to look classic and I like to look quite clean in some ways. Even if the top might have a lot of drama, I like to anchor the look always so that it looks wearable.
My look isn’t like a Rihanna kind of outfit because I don’t commit all the way like she does most times. I think I have sometimes but it is not a consistent look. My day to day is crazy cool, I guess.”
