‘Fancy Is Lying’ -Alex Ekubo’s Sister, Ifeoma Drops Bombshell On Their Failed Engagement
Things between Alex Ekubo and his estranged fiancé, Fancy Acholonu seems to get messier by the day as the Nollywood actor’s sister, Ifeoma has come to his defence.
Speaking out in an online interview with Obodo Oyibo, Ifeoma cleared the air on the engagement saga going on between the estranged couple.
Touching on her brother’s sexuality, Ifeoma shut down rumours that her brother is gay and slammed Fancy for fueling such reports that they never had sex during their 5 years relationship.
A few days ago, Fancy in a recent interview with SDK, revealed that for the five years they dated, Alex never had intimacy with her, saying he wanted to be celibate because of his religious beliefs.
Fancy added that the no-intimate stance of Alex was confusing and difficult for her and that the whole thing affected her self esteem. She said in part:
“His sexuality is not the reason I broke up with him. I’m very open minded so regardless of what he prefers, love is love for me. I loved him for his personality and heart nothing more.
He didn’t want to be with me intimately which was confusing and difficult for me to understand especially for 5 years so it did affect my self esteem as I kept myself for him and when he would cheat with curvy women he wouldn’t perform with them either so I don’t know, I can’t confirm or deny his sexuality but for me, I loved him despite all and he still found ways to hurt me.”
Ifeoma, on the otherhand, insisted that her brother isn’t gay and faulted Fancy for spreading false rumours about him. Ifeoma claimed that the two had sex in January and as such, the ‘gay’ reports aren’t true.
She claimed Alex told her about their sexual escapades following their reconciliation in January.
According to her, she doesn’t understand why Fancy made such a suggestive remark which has now caused people to question her brother’s sexual preference.
She further insisted that Alex is not gay because the genes for being gay doesn’t run in their family, and no one had ever been gay in their bloodline.
Alex and Fancy got engaged May 2021, after 5 years of dating. However, their engagement didn’t last long as Acholonu suddenly called off their already-scheduled wedding in August of the same year.
On Friday, December 29tb, the model shocked many when she issued a public apology to Ekubo via Instagram, stating that her heart still belongs to him.
Ekubo reacted to the apology with a comment which read, “I appreciate the apology. May God bless us all.”
Rumours of a possible reconciliation started making rounds, before Fancy shut it down. In an unexpected turn of events, the US model claimed that Alex had fooled her into making a public apology and then blocked her.

Acholonu took to Instagram on Monday, January 2nd to declare that she is “free” and that “the chain is broken.”
