‘I’ve Been To Hell And Back’ – Celebrity Dad, Jamie Foxx Speaks For The First Time Following His Health Scare

Oscar-winning US actor, Jamie Foxx has shared an update on his recovery since his hospitalization in April where he had an unspecified “medical complication”.

In a three-minute video posted on his Instagram on Friday, July 21, the 55-year-old actor said the unspecified medical emergency sent him to “hell and back” but that he was finally able to work again.

In his words:

“I went through something I never thought I would go through. I know a lot of people [were] waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that man.”

The celebrity dad didn’t reveal details of the health condition he suffered. He said he didn’t make his condition public because he didn’t want people to see him in that state.

He added that he didn’t want his fans to see “tubes running through me” but “to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie [or] television show.”

He said:

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man.

I want you to see me laughing, having a good time partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.”

The ‘God Is a Bullet’ actor went on to share his appreciation for his sister and daughter and their support throughout his recovery, saying they “saved my life.” He added:

“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video.

My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corrine really saved my life. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.”

In April, the father of two was rushed to a medical facility in the state of Georgia, where he was filming a Netflix movie.

No details on his medical condition were divulged, leading to speculation that the “Django Unchained” star could have a serious health issue.
