Marital Crisis: Lagos Socialite, Farida Sobowale Who Almost Ended It All On Third Mainland Bridge Breaks Silence (Video)
Popular Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale of House of Phreeda, has spoken out following her rescue from a suicide attempt on the Third Mainland Bridge.
We had earlier reported that the mother of three was rescued on Thursday evening after attempting to end it all.
According to reports, Farida went to the bridge in her Lexus SUV, came down, and was on the verge of jumping into the lagoon when she was saved by passersby.
In a new update, the businesswoman has explained why she wanted to commit suicide on Thursday night, August 17.
In a voice note making rounds online, the socialite who confirmed the end of her marriage, revealed that she tried to commit suicide out of love for her ex-husband.
It was gathered that she held a high profile wedding with her partner which featured a performance by Fuji Maestro K1 De Ultimate, in June 2023.
Unfortunately, barely two months after their wedding which allegedly cost N100 million, her husband dumped her for his side-chick, one Yemisi Fasawe.

He also allegedly rained insults on her, stating that she looks like an old woman and he couldn’t satisfy her in bed.
According to Farida, her marriage with another Lagos socialite, Demola Okulaja, that crashed two months after their N100 million wedding, caused her a lot of pain.
She admitted that friends and family warned her against going into the marriage but she refused to listen to them because of the love she had for him.
She went on to reveal that after he walked out of their matrimonial home, she has been frustrated with many suicidal attempts.
She said she felt betrayed and deceived after their lavish wedding, and pleaded for the forgiveness of her fans and followers. She further stated that she has moved on and has left the situation to God.
In her words:
“Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant. It was love that pushed me into this.
He told me that he was going to be with me, make me bore children for him. I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position.
I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide. I have forgiven my ex-husband. May God provide him with another wife.”
