Skit Maker And Mum, Kiekie Appeals To Fellow Married Women In New Interview As She Reveals She Splits Bills With Her Husband

Nigerian TV personality and content creator, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has appealed to women to ensure they spit some bills with their husbands.

In a recent interview with media personality, Toke Makinwa, the happily married mother of one shared her personal experiences about stardom after marriage.

According to Kiekie, she splits all the bills with her husband ranging from nanny bills to dry cleaning services. She said there is no way she would allow her husband bear all the financial burdens of their home.

Speaking about why most women are not respected in their homes, Kiekie maintained that being financially responsible for somethings in the home forces husbands to accord respect to the wives.

She went on to state that sharing the rent fees with men will also bring some sense of responsibility and will make the men stop calling the house theirs.

The content creator likened the process to getting a friend who is enjoying the benefits of staying in the house without sharing bills with the person.

She queried,

“How can you be living in a house and you are not paying rent? You can do some other things as the man, in fact, fly me to Dubai or Barcelona, and buy me a Fendi bag on my birthday but I will be living in the house without paying rent? It is not possible.

So that when we want to fight, you will carry the chair, and I will carry the table or any other thing because we are both paying house rent. We will share everything equally, you can’t tell me to ‘get out of your house.”

The comic actress continued:

“I tell women this. How would you be living in a house and you are not paying rent? To me, it doesn’t make sense.”
