Why I Waited Until Age 46 Before Getting Married -Rita Dominic
Nigerian actress, Rita Dominic has revealed why she waited for too long before getting married.
The screen diva got married to her beau, publisher of the Daily Times Newspaper, Fidelis Anosike, in April 2022. The award-winning actress was 46-year- old when she officially tied the nuptial knot to Mr Anosike.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanaâs Joy 99.7 FM, Mrs Anosike explained that she didnât marry early because she wanted to be sure she was marrying for âthe right reasonsâ and not because of societal pressure.
She said she was under pressure for years to get married, but she turned deaf ears to it until it was convenient for her.

âWhy did I wait so long before getting married? I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for the reasons that stemmed from societal pressure.
Before I got married, the pressure was there for years, but I just turned deaf ears. Because, like I always say, âAt the end of the day, I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man that anybody dreams for me.
If anything goes wrong tomorrow, I will be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society. So, I will do it when I want to do it at the right time.â And I believe I did it at the right time with the right person.â
When asked whether it took so long because she couldnât find her ideal man on time, she said:
âI met quite a number of people, but maybe we just didnât happen. It just didnât work out. And I donât believe in forcing things. If itâs not working, if we are not compatible, thereâs no point forcing things; then you grow into it, and tomorrow youâre out of it.â
She also clarified that being a celebrity wasnât the reason for her delayed marriage.
Rita and Anosike wedded traditionally in April 2022. The white wedding ceremony was held in North Yorkshire, England, in November 2022.
The lavish ceremonies were well attended by both their colleagues in the industry.
In September 2023, Rita Dominic dismissed reports claiming she welcomed a set of twins with her husband. She also slammed rumour mongers for spreading what she described as lies.
