BBOG Co-Convener Aisha Yesufu Shares How A Mum Lost Triplets At Birth
Maternal and child mortality is still sadly a reality in many parts of the world, Nigeria inclusive. Mum of two, and activist, Aisha Yesufu told of a sad case that happened via her Twitter handle, @AishaYesufu.
Going by the account of the outspoken rights activist and co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement (BBOG), a helpless mum lost her triplets at birth at the Aminu Kano Teaching hospital because the hospital didn’t have adequate incubators.
In the Twitter thread where she shared the story, she said:
“A woman lost her triplets yesterday because Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital didn’t have enough incubators. They said they had only two, which were already in use. This woman watched her triplets take their last breath. Bad governance & corruption killing us and we say it is Fate. Allah ya isa! “
