Inspirational: Meet Nigerian Woman, Kofo Akinkugbe Who Owns West Africa’s First SmartCard/ SIM Producing Company

There really is no stopping you if your dreams are large enough and another Nigerian woman, Kofo Akinkugbe is proof that you can have both, a happy marriage and a thriving career. Mrs. Akinkugbe is the owner of SecureID Nigeria Ltd, a sim production company that has excelled in smart card technology. Prior to the inception of her company, Nigeria was spending much on importing sim cards from other countries, especially China. The company asides serving Nigeria now reportedly exports to 21 other countries and has the certification of credible companies like VISA, Verve, and Master Card.

In 2012, Kofo was given the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship Mature Business Award for her excellent works and being a thoughtful and solution-providing businesswoman.

According to a pro-Nigeria twitter user with the handle @OvieAlie, Kofo’s company has so far produced a whopping 200 million cards.

She spent 12 years in the financial sector before she left in 1997 to begin Interface Technologies. She also has MBA from the University of Strathclyde. She spent nine years working on Interface Technologies before she started SecureID Nigeria Ltd, which has contributed immensely to the smart cards.
